Anyone can claim to be an expert. We would rather show you what each claim is actually backed by, so here is exactly what every badge on this site means and how it is earned.

The three levels
An expert moves up only when they meet every requirement of the level below.
They confirmed who they are
The account owner clicked a verification link sent to their email address, and published a profile with a rate, skills and a description of the problems they solve. Nothing more is implied. Registered experts carry no badge, because signing up is not an achievement.
We checked their identity and history
Our team reviewed the person behind the profile: identity, the roles they claim to have held, and the work they say they did. If something could not be confirmed, the badge is not granted.
They have proven it on real work
Our highest level. Everything above, plus a skills review by someone who works in the same field, published case studies, and a track record on the platform. Specifically, all of the following must be true:
- Email verified
- Profile complete, with skills and a clear headline
- Published case studies with real outcomes
- Rate and availability set
- Reviewed by a client, rated 4.0 or better
What a badge does not tell you
A badge is a signal, not a guarantee. It tells you we checked something specific, and it says nothing about whether a particular expert is right for your particular problem. Read their case studies, look at what past clients wrote, and talk to them before you commit. If an expert ever misrepresents themselves, report the profile and we will remove the badge.
